Thank you to all the children, parents and friends of Gateford who came along to gaze at the stars with the Bassetlaw Astronomical Society on Tuesday evening. With beautiful clear skies we were treated to an amazing spectacle of moon craters, nebulae and Jupiter with its moons.
After an informative talk about the night sky we all filed outside and queued up to have our chance to look through one or more of the powerful telescopes brought along by the society members.
Then it was time for a tasty rocketdog and planetcakes! Yummy!
We hope to see lots of you at the next space event on Thursday. Come along and help your child/ren to build a junk spaceship in the hall from 1.30pm. See you there!
Less than a week to go. March 3rd to 7th will be Space Week at Gateford Park Primary School. There will be lots of educational and fun events happening around school and a variety of competitions to enter.
Please remember to send in any junk modelling materials for Thursday's "Build a space ship" and watch out for further details of the "Balloon Rocket Challenge".
If you have any questions please do not hesitate to ask Mrs Blackman.
The countdown has begun.
