Gnome

Welcome to Gnome Class

In our FS2 class, children learn through the Foundation Stage Framework consisting of 7 areas of learning: Personal, Social and Emotional Development, Physical Development, Communication and Language, Literacy, Mathematics, Understanding the World and Expressive Arts and Design.

Each day the children access both indoor and outdoor continuous provision which allows the children to choose different activities which aim to further enhance and develop their skills.

The children take part in daily mathematics, literacy and phonics sessions to develop their understanding of number, shape, space and measure, reading, writing, letters and sounds.

The children and their interests, needs and responses are at the heart of all we do and a big priority for us is for all of our children to be happy and engaged and we believe these go hand in hand.

We share regular updates, photographs of our learning adventures and class news via Class Dojo.

Each Friday, teachers in our Early Years and Key Stage 1 classes (Elf, Gnome, Pixie and Unicorn classes) will share a 'Friday Family Follow-up' post on their Class Dojo page.

These posts are intended to share an insight into what the children have been learning at school each week and give an opportunity to 'follow-up' this learning at home. This could be with a question, a challenge or a game for the children to play.

As a school we value our families and the partnership we share in supporting our children greatly and look forward to continue to work together as a team.

Reminders:
*We go outside in all weather, so please ensure your child has appropriate, named clothing each day and apply sun cream before school on sunny days.

*Our PE day is Friday, please send your child into school in their PE kit for the day.

*We provide a range of healthy snacks in the morning and afternoon for the children, this is at a cost of £10 per child.
