WELCOME TO THE YEAR 5 CLASS PAGE

"Look up at the sky, not down

at your feet"

This half term, we’re launching into space to learn about the movements of the Earth, sun and moon. We will also look at planets in our solar system, outdated theories and comparing to current knowledge and doing some space themed art work.

In maths, we are continuing with decimals, percentages and then moving onto area, perimeter. statistics, postition and direction and shapes - all the fun stuff!!

We will also be recapping key concepts of the four calculations and fractions.

In English we are reading Hidden Figures for whole class read. We will be using this text to help us write Newspaper articles, a persuasive job advert for NASA We will also be learning how to write Haikus and Renga poems.
