Dear Parents, Carers and children of Phoenix Class,
Welcome to our new hub of 'home learning'. Through the links below, I will provide you with daily updates, recommended worksheets and guide you in the best possible way over the coming weeks. Along with the home packs I have provided, I have included an extensive list of resources on our class page that will help keep the children busy.
To ensure we are staying healthy, maintaining skills and learning new things, I am suggesting you organise your day in advance. Write a schedule, including times to ensure your day is kept as close to a typical school day as possible. I am recommending a minimum of 20 minutes reading every day, 10-15 minutes of practising your cursive handwriting in the format we use during handwriting sessions, practising your spellings and times tables daily, completing the daily maths and SPaG challenges included in your 'home packs' and completing the English and maths recommended challenges each day. Lastly, I encourage you to be as active as possible... Can you do the daily mile around your garden? Check out Super Movers on the BBC website!
I appreciate that all of this may be a lot to take in and you may be feeling a little overwhelmed. I will be available throughout the day on Class Dojo and email. I will also be on Skype every day from 1.30-2.30pm to answer any questions you may have. Please find attached my Skype details in your child's home pack.
I hope to see you all back in the classroom very soon!
My best wishes,

Throughout the year, children will be encouraged to read as much as they possibly can. Whether that be individually, to an adult or in a group. Children will bring books home to read. If you could continue to write a short comment in their school diary, that would be really appreciated. Diaries will be checked on a Friday and Dojo's will be awarded accordingly.
Our designated PE days this year are Tuesday (swimming) and Thursday (outdoor). This half term we are covering gymnastics and we are beginning our first half term of swimming. Please remember your child's correct kit every Tuesday. Children that don't have the correct kit will not be able to take part.

I have an open door policy for all. However, if you do need to email me then you can do so. Email: email@example.com
