My name is Stacey Spittlehouse and I am a co-opted Governor here at Gateford Park Primary school. I applied for the post in May 2018 and was successfully accepted within the governing body not long after. So I am very new to this role.
I am married and we have two little girls, a four year old and a one year old. Our eldest has just started her educational journey right here at gateford park. This was one of the reasons I decided to apply for the governor post when it became available. I am eager to support and be involved as many ways as possible in the positive learning experience I know that each and every child will receive at Gateford Park.
I have worked in education for 12 years and as a lecturer I have a vast array of experience and knowledge that I feel I could use and transfer to my role here at Gateford Park.
My background has predominantly been working with and teaching young people with behavioural problems and/or SEN.
But I enjoyed looking at the bigger picture in education and went on to work towards and achieve a BA Hons degree in Education and Professional Development, I was nominated and able to use some of the skills acquired to support my peers in a learning coach role. All these things I hope will be of use to the school and its future development.
I am looking forward to this academic year and to the many successes it will bring.
