Thursday 21st May 2020:

Good morning, Phoenix Class! A big massive thank you for all your hard work this half term! As a reward, today's zoom call will be packed with fun and games.  

 

There is no PowerPoint with work today. If you do wish to do some work, please access some of the links on our class page. If you are struggling to find some work, please email me or message me on Class Dojo. 

 

I would love to see as man of you as possible on the zoom call. We will begin at 10am with a workout, just like we did last week. However, I would like you to invite the adults in your house to join in. After our workout, we will play the finding game and have a game of bingo (you will need paper and a pen). We will also have time for show and tell. Please pick something sensible for this activity.

Friday 3rd April 2020:

Good morning, Phoenix Class! The final day of an unprecedented half term. It's time to recharge your batteries and have plenty of family time. Our daily Zoom call is at 1pm this afternoon. Please complete today's daily SPaG (day 48) and we will mark it together. Also, please have your morning book with you on zoom as we are going to complete our shared write.

Send me your best workout pictures! I will share them with the rest of the class when we meet up on Zoom later. 

 

I would then like you to complete the following challenges: daily SPaG, daily maths, times tables booklet, online games, spellings and daily reading. Today's English task is to continue our letter. We will finish it today. If you access one of the guided reading sheets, that would be fantastic. Record you answers in your morning book. In maths, we are continuing with the curriculum as close as possible. Therefore, we are going to continue to access the areas we haven’t covered as of yet. On the maths star on the class page, you will be able to access the maths worksheets. You will see the section for this week. Please complete them as and when you can. Sheet one is the easier sheet and sheet three is the harder sheet. I have updated the times tables rockstar app so it is accessible for your children. If you can, I would like you to continue with your daily diary entries. This afternoons challenge is to hide eggs around your house and go on a little Easter egg hunt! Get all your family involved! Also, you can draw an Easter egg and send it to me on class dojo.

Good morning, Phoenix Class! Well done for your fantastic work yesterday. Our daily Zoom call is at 1pm this afternoon. Yesterday we completed paragraph two. Today, we are going to write paragraph three. Please do not start it until we meet on zoom. If you access one of the guided reading sheets, that would be fantastic. Record you answers in your morning book. In maths, we are continuing with the curriculum as close as possible. Therefore, we are going to continue to access the areas we haven’t covered as of yet. On the maths star on the class page, you will be able to access the maths worksheets. You will see the section for this week. Please complete them as and when you can. Sheet one is the easier sheet and sheet three is the harder sheet. I have updated the times tables rockstar app so it is accessible for your children. If you can, I would like you to continue with your daily diary entries. This afternoons challenge is to get your ingredients ready to cook your meal. Please send me in your photos of your fantastic creations!

This afternoons challenge is to create a poster to show your support for the NHS and Key Workers! During our zoom session, I will share a PowerPoint with you, to give you facts about the NHS and Key Workers. We can discuss more on zoom later.

Your letter is going to include a list of all the things you miss at this present moment, all the things you are looking forward to once life returns back to normal. Once everything has returned to normal, you will be able to open your bottle or box and read the letter you sent so you can appreciate the things we do every day. As I mentioned yesterday, I have updated the times tables rockstar app so it is accessible for your children. If you can, I would like you to continue with your daily diary entries. This afternoon, I will be setting an art challenge. I will let you know what I want you to do on Zoom later.

Good morning Phoenix Class, I hope you are all safe and well? Today is our first day of home learning and I am going to include a list of activities to keep you going throughout the day.

After that, you can now complete the following challenges: daily SPaG, daily maths, times tables booklet and online games and spellings. Today's English challenge is to write FIVE instructions, using time adverbials, on how to make something. It can be anything you want (real or made up). Write this in your morning book and draw a picture to go with it. Please send me photos of your work so I can celebrate your successes! Remember to get lots of mind breaks and lots of fresh air in the garden. Additionally, you can access all the other resources on the class website for great ideas and worksheets!

Friday 20th March 2020:

I would like to begin today by thanking you all for your kind words and messages over the past few days. Rest assure that staff throughout the school are doing their best in the interest of ALL children. We plan to have a fabulous final day before the school closure today in our sparkly outfits. 

 

Home learning will begin on Monday 23rd March. Please let me know if you have any questions. There are still a few children that have not collected or had their home learning packs delivered. Please let me know if you need me to deliver your home learning pack through Class Dojo.

Thursday 19th March 2020:

Yesterday, we received the news that school will close to the majority of children after Friday 20th March. We will now be turning our attention to online learning from Monday 23rd March. Pleas continue to check the class page every day for new updates. 

 

You will be able to access lots of resources, useful websites and worksheets to be completed daily. The class page will be updated daily with brand new resources and worksheets. 

 

I will be providing multiple options for you to be able to contact me. You will be able to contact me daily on Class Dojo or my email: dhart@gateford.notts.sch.uk - I will also be available on Skype from 1.30pm-2.30pm daily to answer any of your questions.
