Key information

P.E.

P.E. days are currently Thursday and Friday.  

The children should come dressed in their P.E. kit.

Reading Books

The children will have their reading books changed once a week, usually on a Wednesday or Friday.

Spellings

The children will have spellings to learn every week with a test on a Friday.

Tables Test

The children will have various tables to learn(starting with the tens) to learn each week with a test on Friday.

Phoenix Autumn 2

This half term the children will continue to have P.E. on Thursday and Friday. The children should come to school in their P.E. kit on these days as usual, but they may need warmer clothing, such as , jogging bottoms etc. as the weather will no doubt become colder.

This half term the children will cover the following curriculum:

Maths

Multiplication and division and times tables every week.

Literacy

We will be covering myths and legends and poetry

The children will continue their reading comprehension and SPAG (spelling, punctuation and grammar) work.

Science

The children will be investigating light, including reflection and shadows.

History

The children will continue their stone age work and move into the bronze and iron age.

Geography

The children will continue to improve their skills and investigate hemispheres and time zones.

Art

The children will be creating shadow based art.

Music

This will be using the Charanga scheme and will involve reading notes and playing glockenspiels .

P.E.

Areas covered will be ball skills and fitness.

Spanish

Areas covered will be greetings, parts of the body, action words, colours and clothes

PSHE

Our World, including living in, working in and looking after our world

R.E.

Completion of Islam work and the nativity
