Today was Star Day and we had visitors from the Bassetlaw Astronomical Society. They told us all about what we can see in the night sky at the moment and also taught us lots about our solar system. Each class spent half an hour with the really enthusiastic members of the society and had the chance to ask lots of interesting questions.
Today the children from KS2 worked with Dr Roberts from Nottingham University. Year 3 and 4 found out just how big space is and year 5 and 6 investigated how difficult it was to fly to the moon.
Check out the photographs below.
Day 2 = Star Day. Mr Whyles from the Bassetlaw Astronomical Society will be here all day working with the children and helping them to find out about the sky at night. Why not come along at 6.30pm with your child/ren to find out more and hopefully to look at the stars. Fingers crossed for a clear evening sky. The PTFA have kindly offered to come along and sell hot dogs and drinks to keep us going. Please come along and support the event.
