Keep up to date with all the news happening in school at the moment.
After school clubs will be starting soon...
As always, there will be lots of fantastic clubs on offer for children in all classes. This year, we will be offering street dance with Sammy 'The One', as well as gardening club , craft club, football and much, much more. There really will be something for everyone!
Keep an eye out for the letter, which will be coming soon to a book bag near you!!
Griffin Class spent a fantastic day in the village of Eyam learning about the plague.
Each group was challenged to visit a number of sites around the village in order to gather information about what life may have been like there during the plague years. Children used I-Pads to access maps and instruction sheets and also to record their visit through note taking and photography.
One group were lucky enough to have a chat with the current occupiers of the cottage where the plague is believed to have started its devastating journey. She said she felt very privileged to live in the village and that it was an honour to live in her particular cottage. She said that she enjoyed meeting visitors to the village and telling them all about the plague. Apparently there are still members from three families living in the village who lived there during the plague! We found out that they don't still have the plague!
A new structure has appeared in the grounds of Gateford park. No, it's not an alien spacecraft but it is amazing all the same.
Jim from Greener Places (who helped to design and build the wildlife garden last spring) has been working hard for us again. Gateford Oaks very kindly agreed to fund a willow sculpture and today saw Jim and the children preparing the ground, arranging the willow rods and weaving them into place.
The finished sculpture is beautiful and will provide a quiet area of shade during the warmer months. During the winter - well, let your imagination run wild...
Come along and see the Willow Dome for yourself.
