Today, we were thrilled to have a London 2012 Olympic torch in school. Parent, Michelle Harrop had been chosen over hundreds of other applicants to carry the torch when it made its visit to Bolsover a few weeks ago. Mrs. Harrop will be joining Gateford Park in September as our new sports coach.
The children could help but smile as they each held the torch aloft. Maybe we have an Olympic gold medalist of the future!

What a fantastic evening we had last night. Well over 300 people attending our first PTFA Summer BBQ!
After quite possibly the rainiest July day of all time, the sun shone down on Gateford Park for everyone to enjoy a burger, a drink (or two!), face painting, raffles, games, bouncy castles, sweets, ice-creams and each other's company at the end of a good year!
Unfortunately, we were so busy 'doing' that we didn't take any photographs!! If you took any photos that you would be happy to share with us, please e-mail them to Mrs. Ellis at office@gateford.notts.sch.uk Thank you!
Our thanks go to the PTFA Committee and volunteers for their fantastic organisation; to the staff for their support; to the sponsors of the event and to everyone who came along to share the evening. Thank you!
Finally, keep Friday 5 July 2013 clear in your diaries! Let's do it all again!
