Geoff Young - Co-opted Governor (Chair)
Hi, I'm Geoff Young, Co-Opted Governor at Gateford Park Primary School for almost 20 years. I am Chair of the whole Governing Body and I am also Chair of the Finance Committee.
I am a Business Transformation Director for 'Bufab', a Swedish multi-national fastening distributor.
I have four children, one who after travelling following Covid, has settled in Australia, two in sales management and one who works in higher education in the counselling service. I am also Grandad to Harry who is 18 months old and very cheeky!
I am an avid sports fan and played both football and cricket at a high level. I still play golf on a regular basis. I hope that I bring to the Governing body team, commercial acumen with over forty years in the logistics sector, twenty five at Director level. I am passionate about children receiving the best education that we can possibly provide them in both a disciplined and enjoyable environment. It is a pleasure to work with such a fabulous school with amazing children, a first class staff and a supportive team of Governors.
